Using low-impact flexibility activities, targeted muscle workouts, and endurance-based movement, Therapeutic Pilates emphasizes the following principles: core stabilization, motor control, posture, alignment, and balance. Rehabilitative and corrective in nature, Therapeutic Pilates is a proven, safe, and effective tool for countering the effects of many orthopedic and neurological issues. Additional benefits include correcting faulty movement patterns, increased mindfulness, and helping you resume routine exercises and activities of daily living following traumatic surgeries and injuries. Sessions are treatment-specific and customized for your capabilities and needs. To continue building toward your goals, I also prescribe personalized home exercise practices.
Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a light-touch, manual therapy that releases tensions, as well as restrictions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve overall health.
Clinical Massage Therapy focuses on treating painful conditions which affect the soft tissues. Includes a wide range of techniques designed to treat your specific condition. In the process you will also achieve increased flexibility and range of motion and reduced pain.
Therapeutic yoga is a series of gentle yogic techniques designed to address specific issues a person may have. It’s an adaptation of a yoga practice to the needs of a person based on persistent health issues that aren’t addressed in a group class.
Corrective Exercise is a three-step process for helping you return to the path of proper form, function, and injury prevention. It’s also ideal for treating chronic issues that can worsen over time. In Amy's process, she can identify poor posture, movement pain, and dysfunction, release specific soft tissue restrictions, and learn to consistently activate the proper muscles, ensuring that movement is functional and natural. From there, you will incrementally progress your physical state, training your body for the specific activities of your choosing
Posture and movement assessments are crucial for understanding an individual's musculoskeletal health and biomechanics. Posture and movement assessments are essential for anyone looking to find the root cause of pain and dysfunction, maintain optimal physical health, improve performance, or recover from injuries.
Styku uses 3D Body Scanning Technology to measure body data and composition like:
It can even tell you the length of your left arm or maybe you want to know the circumference of your right leg?
By digitally measuring circumferences like hip, thigh, waist, and bust, Styku will show you where you are gaining muscle, losing fat and how you are progressing towards your fitness goals.
Styku captures millions of data points and 600 infrared images, and after the scan is complete, Styku displays an accurate 3D model of you that’s viewable from a variety of perspectives. You can rotate, pan, zoom, and nest silhouettes to see real progress.
It’s an honest, objective way to measure yourself as you progress toward your health and fitness goals.
Your Styku appointment will take ~15 mins and include the scan and data evaluation, as well as recommendations to reach your goals. You will stand on the Styku turntable and rotate 360 degrees.
The scan itself will take ~30 seconds, and is contactless and private. After the scan, a detailed Styku report and 3D model will be emailed to you, and your data will remain in the Jasmine Mays Fitness Styku system for comparison against future scans.
Minimal, form-fitting clothing, like sports bras, tights, leggings, underwear, or form-fitting swimwear. (Loose fitting clothing will result in inaccurate measurements.) Socks should be light colored or removed. You’ll also need to remove your shoes, hat, watch and jewelry. Longer hair needs to be pinned up.
We recommend about every 3 weeks, depending on your goals. With repeated assessments, you can monitor changes in your body shape and dimensions over time, seeing the results of your current fitness routines and nutrition choices, allowing you to make changes, if necessary.
The Kinect sensor used in the Styku scanner emits harmless infrared light, similar to that used in a remote control. It is completely non-invasive and safe to use.
